Job summary

Givens in Chesapeake, VA is hiring a sit-down forklift operator to join our warehouse team. This full-time role requires operating a sit-down forklift to move materials, load/unload 53' trailers, and maintain safety.

You will use RF scanners, meet daily productivity goals, and uphold OSHA practices. A forklift certification and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are preferred, with weekly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 2-7 years of previous sit‑down forklift experience required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
• Experience using RF scanners preferred.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit‑down forklift to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload 53' trailers, flatbeds, and shipping containers.
• Receive inbound shipments and stage outbound freight.
• Use RF scanners to accurately receive, locate, and pick inventory.
• Pull orders for shipment and prepare freight for delivery.
• Shrink wrap and secure pallets for shipping.
• Inspect freight for damage and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA safety procedures.
• Meet daily productivity and on-time shipping goals.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
