Job summary

The Stritch Family Literacy Center at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is seeking a part-time Master Teacher to assess students, plan instruction, and document progress using the CLIFFTOP model. This role involves evening instruction at the UWM Children’s Learning Center, with direct family communication and ongoing professional development.

Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field and Wisconsin teaching certification, plus knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
• Wisconsin Teaching Certification or equivalent is required.
• Master's degree in Reading/Literacy or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• 80% – Assess students, analyze data and write assessment-based intervention plans based on the CLIFFTOP model, and draft initial and progress reports shared with families.
• 15% – Communicate with families about scheduling, student reports, and weekly home extensions.
• 5% – Actively participate in initial and ongoing professional development.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field

Wisconsin Teaching Certification or equivalent

Master of Arts or Masters of Science in Reading/Literacy, Special Education, or Speech and Language
