Job summary

Dover Corporation in Houston, TX, is seeking a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee a 26-person production team, including CNC and manual machining, ensuring on-time, profitable output. You will lead safety and quality initiatives, coordinate shift meetings, coach and develop operators, and drive continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, and Lean practices.

Qualified candidates bring 5+ years of supervisory experience, Lean training, and strong leadership; CNC experience is a plus,

Qualifications

5+ years’ supervisory production experience, preferably in a high mix manufacturing and machining environment.
Lean manufacturing principles with continuous improvement experience.
Demonstrated experience in motivating a team to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and resolve issues.
Strong troubleshooting skills to solve complex problems.
Experience training machinists on technical and lean aspects.
Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings and blueprints.
Strong leadership and managerial skills.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel) and ERP/ systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey instructions and collaborate with departments and shifts.

Responsibilities

Supervise a make to order, precision component manufacturing site including CNC and manual machining.
Facilitate shift team meetings and safety meetings.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines.
Conduct accident investigations and respond to emergencies on 2nd Shift.
Organize and assign work to optimize labor, skills, and equipment.
Maintain and update downtime/OEE system.
Collaborate with plant leadership to meet production goals.
Monitor work in progress to ensure quality and resolve CARs/NCMRs as needed.
Support ISO procedures and QMS.
Coach, train, mentor employees; participate in hiring and perform performance assessments.
