The role requires flexibility for off-shift and weekend work, with responsibilities including logging samples, maintaining equipment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the lab and mill.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand instructions and communicate with co-workers.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to operate heavy lab equipment and perform tests.
• Understand hazards and safely handle reagents.
• Proficient in analytical chemistry and metallurgical testing.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Work safely by following defined procedures and PPE.
• Receive samples and log their receipt.
• Prepare samples for testing using heavy equipment (band saws, lathes, milling machines).
• Perform routine tests using analytical and mechanical equipment (spectrometers, microscopes, pH meters).
• Maintain lab equipment and facility as directed.
• Order and maintain supply levels.
• Manage workload and priorities.
• Support continuous improvement efforts.
• Additional duties as directed by supervision.
