Job summary

Superior Metals Manufacturing is seeking a Materials Lab Technician to perform chemical analysis and prepare samples for tests to support product certification and metallurgical development.

You will operate lab instrumentation, interpret results, maintain records, and ensure procedures meet NADCAP, AS9100, and ISO17025 standards, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed at our Chittenango facility.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma with a good mathematical and chemical background. AS in Material Science or Chemistry preferred.
• Familiarity with the casting industry and related materials lab processes/equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate lab instrumentation.
• Identify alloy samples and certify results against specs.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment when possible.
• Maintain data, forms, reports, and communications per work instructions.
• Ensure procedures meet NADCAP, AS9100, ISO17025 requirements.
• Prepare and write lab reports for customers.
