Job summary

HES Facilities Morris, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (3 PM–11:30 PM). The role focuses on repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and performing preventive maintenance across school facilities.

Candidates should be able to read manuals, operate building systems, and coordinate with the Director on major issues. You'll be responsible for safety, documentation, and supporting maintenance staff with hands-on tasks in a busy educational environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints or manuals.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repair HVAC, plumbing and electrical equipment and notify supervisor of major failures.
• Troubleshoot mechanical devices, hydraulics, pneumatics and building automation systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections per work orders.
• Operate and test equipment, and maintain records of work performed.
• Assist with carpentry, painting, and basic repairs as needed.
