Job summary

People, Incorporated is a human service Agency serving the Southcoast community, including the Greater Fall River, New Bedford, and Taunton areas. The Maintenance/Sanitation Worker is responsible for light janitorial work, general building maintenance, and daily cleaning and sanitation of multiple Agency locations.

This full-time role runs Mon-Fri (3:30pm-11:30pm) with a pay of $18.00 per hour and requires a valid driver’s license and background check.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic building and property maintenance.
• Ability to properly use cleaning equipment, hand tools and/or instruments, and cleaning agents and products.
• Ability to follow direction and work independently.
• Ability to work and communicate with others to provide immediate response.
• A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver’s license are required.
• Monitor and report major repairs or safety hazards to management
• Lock all doors/gates and secure building at the end of each shift
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies as needed

Responsibilities

• Report to supervisor and follow general directions.
• Complete items on maintenance checklist weekly.
• Inspect smoke detectors, exit lights, and safety conditions weekly.
• Perform janitorial work per established schedule.
• Provide seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal and de-icing.
• Transport supplies and equipment as needed.
• Travel between Agency facilities as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and required training sessions.
• Maintain all program and Agency-required trainings.
• May include working weekends and holidays.
