Job summary

People Incorporated, a human service agency serving the Southcoast community, is hiring a Full-Time Custodian for its Perkins Center site in Fall River, MA. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and performing basic building repairs to support a safe, welcoming environment.

Schedule Monday–Friday at 40 hours per week with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour. Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, routine inspections, seasonal maintenance, stocking bathrooms and kitchens, and reporting supply

Qualifications

• Basic building/property maintenance abilities.
• Ability to properly use hand tools and cleaning agents.
• Ability to follow direction from supervisors.
• Ability to work and communicate with others to provide prompt response.
• A qualifying criminal background check and driving record; valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial work according to the established schedule.
• Review maintenance checklist weekly.
• Schedule and/or complete building/fixture inspections for repairs (smoke detectors, exits, alarms, plumbing, electrical, etc).
• Perform seasonal property maintenance (snow removal, sanding, de-icing) and lawn/parking lot care.
• Ensure kitchen dispensers are stocked with cutlery; bathrooms stocked and cleaned.
• Inform supervisor of supply orders (toilet paper, cleaning supplies).
• Participate in required training sessions and staff meetings.
• Maintain program and agency required training.

SUMMARY: The Custodian is responsible for the overall cleanliness and general building repairs of People Incorporated’s Perkins Center site.

Essential Functions

• Perform general janitorial work in accordance with an established schedule.


• Review maintenance checklist weekly.


• Schedule and/or complete building and fixture inspections to effect repair and/or replacement as necessary. This includes smoke detectors, exit lights, fire alarms, plumbing, electrical, heating systems, paint, etc.


• Perform seasonal property maintenance, such as snow removal, sanding, and de-icing of walkways, in addition to parking lot and lawn clean-up, etc.


• Ensure the kitchen dispensers are stocked with forks and spoons.


• Ensure the bathrooms are cleaned and stocked.


• Inform supervisor of supply orders (such as toilet paper, cleaning supplies, paper towels)


• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.


• Maintain all program and Agency required training.

QUALIFICATIONs
