Rutgers University—University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) seeks a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse at Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Yardville, NJ. This on-site evening shift role provides direct patient care to incarcerated individuals under RN supervision, delivering total patient care per professional standards.

The position requires NJ LPN license, CPR, and a valid driver's license with own vehicle for site-to-site coverage.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey
• CPR Certification
• Valid Driver’s License is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.

Responsibilities

• Participates in data collection related to the patients’ status and needs.
• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
• Informs and instructs patients/significant others on patient’s health/illness state and plan of care.
• Assists patient/significant other in preparation for discharge and health maintenance in the home.
• Documents all aspects of patient care.
