Job summary

Rutgers University in Yardville, NJ seeks a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility. The LPN provides total patient care under RN supervision, performs treatments, and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment in a correctional setting. Evening shift, on-site only, 40 hours.

Requires NJ LPN license, CPR, and a valid driver’s license. Preferred candidates have 6 months acute hospital experience and are prepared to work in a highly structured, secure

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
• Documents all aspects of patient care.
• Informs and instructs patients/significant others on health/illness state and plan of care.
• Participates in data collection related to the patients' status and needs.
• Assists patient/significant other in preparation for discharge and health maintenance in the home.
