Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Culinary Cook for the Hilton Birmingham at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. The role requires 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience, a valid food handler’s certification, and the ability to work day, night and weekend shifts.

You will contribute to a top-tier culinary team and follow recipes to deliver high-quality dishes. You will prep ingredients, utilize knives and equipment, read recipes, minimize waste, and maintain a clean, organized work

Qualifications

• 2-3 years previous culinary experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Active Food handler’s certification or the ability to get it.
• Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
• Requires strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Have a desire to exceed expectations.
• An energetic personality.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge and skills in cooking procedures (grill, sauté, fry).
• Experience using knives and various kitchen equipment.
• Read and recreate recipes.
• Maintain consistency in food preparation.
• Minimize food waste through cross utilization.
• Work with a world-class culinary team.
• Create workstations with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients (chopping/peeling).
• Keep kitchen sanitized and orderly.
• Store all food/items properly.
• Ensure quality of ingredients.
