Job summary

City Club Birmingham, located in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Line Cook to join our culinary team in a fast-paced hospitality setting. You will work under the direction of the Chef/Kitchen Manager, assist with setup, food prep, and daily inventory, and ensure quality and safety across all food outlets on the property.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years cooking experience, HS diploma, and a strong sense of teamwork, dependability, and the ability to follow recipes and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of cooking experience.
• Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in maintaining a safe working environment.
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Must be dependable.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Able to take direction.

Responsibilities

• Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
• Assists Chef/Kitchen Manager with setup and preparation of food items for all outlets on the property.
• Carefully follows standard recipes while preparing all assigned items.
• Assists with conducting a monthly food/supplies inventory.
• Understands how to properly use and maintain the equipment.
• Performs cleaning and sanitation maintenance for all food prep and storage facilities as directed.
• Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glassware and other utensils.
• Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other storage areas.
• Helps distribute food and supplies throughout the food outlets.
• Cleans food production, holding and serving equipment when needed.
• Assists with product receiving and storage of products.
• Full compliance with the Department of Health regulations.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
