Job summary

Carleton College Library is seeking an Evening Supervisor & Student Experience Specialist to oversee evening/weekend operations, mentor student employees, and participate in projects to improve patron engagement. The role collaborates with St. Olaf and Bridge Consortium libraries.

The position entails rotating schedules, with evening hours and occasional exams-day adjustments. Ability to lift 20+ lbs and strong service orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent library experience.
• Excellent communication and service orientation.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends with schedule flexibility.
• Technological aptitude and willingness to learn new systems.
• Supervisory experience and ability to mentor students.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulation services and manage loanable materials during evening/weekend shifts.
• Supervise staff and mentor student employees; ensure safe, welcoming environment.
• Assist with course reserves and event support during evenings and weekends.
• Design/user research to improve weekend/evening student experience.
• Maintain space, signage, and accessibility; support space improvements.
