Job summary

Carleton College seeks an Evening Supervisor & Student Experience Specialist for the Library. You will oversee evening/weekend operations, mentor student employees, and support course reserves, events, and patron services, creating a welcoming, responsive space for scholars.

You’ll engage in user research and space improvements with Bridge Consortium peers. The role requires a four-year degree or library experience, supervisory background, and comfort with technology; the schedule rotates with

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent library experience.
• Excellent communication and public relations skills.
• Ability to work with faculty, students, staff, and the general public.
• Technological proficiency; ability to learn new software and systems.
• Supervisory experience.
• Ability to frequently lift 20+ pounds.
• Discretion and judgment in a variety of situations.
• Adaptability to a rapidly changing environment; willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulation and patron services during evening/weekend shifts.
• Supervise library staff and mentor student employees.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment during evenings and weekends.
• Assist with processing course reserves during non-daytime hours.
• Set up and support evening/weekend library events.
• Lead user research to improve student experience and space usage.
