Job summary

Alianza in Gastonia, NC is seeking a 2nd shift Laser Operator to set up, operate and monitor laser cutting equipment on sheet metal parts. This role requires precise measurement, blueprint interpretation, and independent operation on the shop floor.

You will work Monday–Thursday, 5:30 PM–4:00 AM, with starting pay at $17.00 per hour and higher pay for relevant experience. A minimum of 1 year of hands-on manufacturing experience and laser cutting exposure is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Previous hands-on experience operating laser cutting equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser cutting equipment according to work orders, blueprints, and production schedules.
• Load sheet metal into the equipment and verify material type, thickness, and size.
• Adjust machine settings and cutting parameters to meet specifications.
• Complete startup/shutdown procedures and monitor production for quality control.
• Read blueprints, measure parts with precision tools, and verify first-piece accuracy.
• Identify equipment issues, perform basic troubleshooting, and report malfunctions.
