Job summary

Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company, based in Billings, MT, is seeking a skilled Laser Operator to set up and run CNC laser cutting equipment on the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 3:30 pm – 2:00 am). You will manufacture sheet metal parts to exact specifications, perform inspections, and support maintenance and process improvements.

You will choose tooling, set offsets, edit simple programs, and ensure on-time production while maintaining safety and a clean workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of related manufacturing or CNC operation experience.
• Formal CNC machining education or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment to produce sheet metal parts.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and settings based on material type and thickness.
• Load materials, set machine offsets, perform simple program edits, and monitor production.
• Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and deburr.
• Organize workload to maximize material flow and production efficiency.
• Communicate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.
• Identify malfunctions and adjust machines within guidelines.
• Assist training and serve as a laser operations resource.
• Maintain a clean, 5S-compliant work area and follow safety policies.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
