Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Ankeny, IA is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician for 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Mon-Thu). The role supports daily lab activities, receives and organizes samples, maintains labware inventory, and prepares buffers and reagents.

You will follow ESH guidelines and SOPs, work with multiple supervisors, and assist with genotyping equipment, task documentation, and rotating through Chipping, Extraction, and Detection areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic lab skills and willingness to handle routine tasks.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety rules in a lab.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and communicate with supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Support daily laboratory activities and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Receive and organize samples, manage labware inventory, and prepare buffers/reagents.
• Follow ESH guidelines and SOPs to ensure a safe work environment.
• Rotate across Chipping, Extraction and Detection areas as needed.
• Troubleshoot and operate equipment used in genotyping production and document tasks.
