Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the team in Fairhope, AL. The role supports specimen evaluation, testing, and instrumentation with a focus on accurate, timely results to improve patient care.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm with rotating weekends. Requires an associate degree in a chemical/biological science and preferred ASCP/AMT certification. Sign-on bonus available for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a chemical or biological science or related field.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
