Job summary

Labcorp in Birmingham, AL seeks a Technologist to join our team, supporting specimen testing and instrument operation on a Tue–Sat schedule. You will perform diverse lab procedures, maintain quality control, and ensure accurate test results to help patient care.

Required are a BS in a chemical/biological science or MLS, with 1+ years in clinical labs or MLS degree; ASCP/AMT certification preferred; color vision testing may be required; overtime flexibility may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
