Job summary
Labcorp in Mobile, AL is seeking a Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will perform routine and complex procedures, monitor instrumentation and ensure quality results to support patient care.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in a chemical or biological science or MLS, and 1 year of lab experience or MLS degree; preferred ASCP/AMT. Evening shift with potential overtime; comprehensive benefits available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper functionality
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE
