Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield Cancer Center is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant for 2nd shift (12p–8p or 1p–9p). Duties include registering orders, accessioning, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and assisting technologists with instruments and reagents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required; keyboarding/data skills a plus.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and specimen collection per procedures.

Responsibilities

• Register and accession orders; verify specimen acceptability.
• Collect blood specimens following venipuncture procedures; transport to lab.
• Support technologists by loading instruments and preparing reagents.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain inventory.
