Job summary

Great River Health in Iowa is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead assigned staff and oversee core lab operations. You will hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff while ensuring quality and compliance with established guidelines.

The role requires a BA/BS in Medical Technology or related field, NAACLS internship, and ASCP certification, with 4–6 years in a clinical lab. A sign-on bonus is offered and scheduled hours are 1:00pm–9:30pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or related field.
• 1-year NAACLS-accredited internship or approved equivalent.
• ASCP MLS/CLS/MT certification required.
• 4-6 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred; computer skills are a plus.
• Willing to work scheduled shifts and extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department workflow and communicate standards.
• Direct supervision of staff including clinical reviews.
• Plan and prepare employee work schedules.
• Coordinate activities with other departments for timely service.
• Maintain production and quality standards for staff.
• Investigate complaints and take corrective action.
• Hire and train new staff; provide ongoing education.
• Evaluate performance and recommend promotions or transfers.
