Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an entry‑level Laboratory Support role in Atlanta, GA. You will provide assistance to clinical laboratory personnel, perform pre-analytical processes, and support patient and care provider needs with strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities include entering orders in LIS, processing specimens, training new staff, and promoting Lean processes to improve workflow.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required
• Two years of experience with laboratory specimen processing or phlebotomy
• Associate's or bachelor’s degree in an applied science (biology, chemistry, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Enters orders and receives all specimens in LIS and processes based on testing requirements
• Prepares send-out requisitions and samples for referral testing
• Is competent in other departments, such as Referral testing or Phlebotomy
• Manages workflow in all pre-analytical areas, the front office, specimen collection, and specimen processing area
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and work area; ensures a safe, professional environment
• Demonstrates familiarity with hospital policies and Lean principles; supports process improvement
