Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician to assist clinical laboratory personnel. You will perform pre-analytical processes, manage specimens in the LIS, and help in training new staff to uphold Lean principles.

The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and strong customer service in a fast-paced hospital environment. High school diploma required; associates/bachelors in applied science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter orders and receive all specimens in LIS; process specimens per testing requirements.
• Prepare send-out requisitions and samples for referral testing; ensure requisition validity.
• Competent in other departments such as Referral testing or Phlebotomy.
• Manage workflow across pre-analytical areas, front office, and specimen processing; assist in training new employees.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and a clean, safe work area; follow safety and compliance procedures.
• Promote Lean culture and continuous process improvements.
