Job summary

NorthWest EMS is seeking a Laboratory Processing Technician II to support the Laboratory department in Beaver County. The role involves performing EKGs, collecting specimens, and preparing various specimen types within the training scope.

The position includes specimen accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting, and packing for courier pickup, along with light clerical duties such as patient registration and report distribution. Training for internal staff and external customers is also provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus phlebotomy or medical assistant training.
• Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances required within 90 days of starting employment, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs and collect specimens within scope of training, including legal specimen collection.
• Prepare all specimen types; perform accessioning, centrifuging, aliquoting and packing for courier pickup.
• Assist with patient registration, lab report distribution and other clerical duties.
• Mans and troubleshoots the pre-analytical automation as assigned.
• Provide training/orientation for internal staff and external customers.
• Maintain a professional manner in all situations.
