Job summary

Eagle Analytical in Houston, TX is seeking a Supervisor, Analytical Chemistry (2nd Shift) to lead the analytical chemistry team focused on raw material, finished product, and stability testing.

You will oversee routine and non-routine analyses, interpret results, maintain analytical instruments, ensure cGMP documentation, and drive SOP development for regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry or related field with 3–4 years of pharma lab experience.
• Hands‑on sample preparative chemistry and wet chemistry analysis per compendial procedures.
• Understanding of instrumental analysis procedures in a modern chemistry lab.
• Proficiency with computer applications for laboratory use.
• Knowledge of sampling methods and quality control systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, schedule and perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw material, finished product, and stability samples according to procedures and guidelines.
• Review and interpret test results for accuracy; notify management of out-of-spec results and lead investigations.
• Supervise maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical equipment (HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, TOC, wet chemistry).
• Ensure team maintains proficiency with equipment, systems, and SOPs for testing.
• Stay current with advances in analytical techniques and regulatory expectations for pharmaceutical testing.
• Provide leadership across workstations and coordinate cross-training and backup coverage.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of testing activities and investigations per cGMP and data integrity standards.
• Lead development, revision, and review of SOPs and lab documentation.
