Job summary

Eagle Analytical in Houston seeks a Supervisor, Analytical Chemistry (2nd Shift) to lead the analytical chemistry team focused on raw material, finished product, and stability testing.

You will manage laboratory operations, personnel and resources on the evening shift, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with cGMP and data integrity. This role requires advanced analytical science expertise and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry or related field with 3–4 years in pharma analytical lab.
• Hands-on sample preparative chemistry and wet chemistry analysis per monograph procedures.
• Understanding of instrumental analysis in a modern chemistry lab.
• Demonstrated competence with computer applications for laboratory use.
• Knowledge of sampling methods and quality control systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, schedule and perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of materials per procedures and regulatory guidelines; ensure timely completion.
• Review and interpret test results; notify management of out-of-spec results and lead investigations with minimal supervision.
• Supervise maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of analytical equipment (HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, TOC, Wet Chemistry) and coordinate maintenance.
• Ensure team proficiency with equipment, systems, and SOPs for raw material, finished product, and stability analysis.
• Keep current with advances in analytical techniques and regulatory expectations for pharma testing.
• Provide leadership across workstations; facilitate cross-training and backup coverage to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of all testing activities in accordance with cGMP and data integrity requirements.
• Lead development, revision, and review of SOPs and laboratory docs for testing.
