Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our RTP, NC team. Typical schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00pm to 8:30pm, supporting specimen handling and processing in a busy clinical laboratory.

The role requires a high school diploma with preferrred experience in specimen processing or medical/lab settings, strong accuracy, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 months+ specimen processing experience preferred.
• 3 months+ medical or laboratory experience preferred.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• High attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet turnaround times.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform basic maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality.
