Job summary

The Kitchen Cook position at Terra Kitchen is a part-time role with evening shifts Tuesday through Saturday. You will earn $20–$22 per hour and may participate in generous tip pooling; a $500 sign-on bonus is offered after 90 days in good standing.

Responsibilities include food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace while delivering excellent service to guests and aligning with SCP’s Culture & Core Values. Health insurance options and 401k matching are available.

Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to follow instructions, both verbally and written.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.
• Professional in appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to learn POS, PMS, CRM and other hospitality software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive guest relations at all times and resolve complaints.
• Adhere to hotel/restaurant policies for safety, accidents and emergencies.
• Promote sanitation, safety and security in the kitchen.
• Food preparation: chop, measure and prep ingredients for cooking.
• Cook following recipes and presentation standards; assist with plating.
• Keep kitchen area clean and organized; ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Monitor inventory, restock supplies and report shortages.
• Participate in quality control with taste tests and inspections.
• Work with servers to ensure orders are accurate and timely.
• Stay informed about menu offerings and daily specials.
