Job summary

Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus is seeking a Night Cook to join our kitchen team in Columbus, NE. This full-time role (12pm-8pm, every other weekend) delivers nutritious meals for residents and works with the dietary team to follow dietary guidelines.

You will prepare meals, adhere to recipes, maintain safety standards, and adjust menus for dietary needs while keeping accurate records. Benefits include insurance and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary certification or degree preferred.
• Experience as a cook in healthcare or institutional setting.
• Experience with special diets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and cooking according to planned menus and resident needs.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion control for consistency.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation per regulations.
• Adjust recipes for dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Assist in ordering and stocking food supplies.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to review menus.
• Record food temperatures, portions, and dietary modifications.
• Participate in ongoing training on food safety and best practices.
