Job summary

Daymark Recovery Services is seeking a clinician to perform clinical intake assessments for admission decisions at Good Hope Hospital in Erwin, NC. You will relay intake information to the on-call physician to determine care level and work with nursing and business staff to ensure timely admissions.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in social work or RN licensure, with 1+ year in mental/behavioral health preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health or related field required or registered nurse licensure.
• One or more years of experience in mental/behavioral health in a clinical capacity preferred or intake clinician experience.
• Experience in managed care precertification, level of care assessments and utilization preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and assessment skills and telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates intake, admission, and prior authorization process for incoming patients.
• Reviews referrals, communicates with referral source and staffs each possible patient for admission with the on call physician.
• Performs insurance benefit verification.
• Provides information gathered to patient, families, and appropriate internal staff.
• Performs ongoing assessment of patients’ status in the admission process.
• Facilitates communication regarding requests for services involving assessment and referral process, intake into services, and follow up activity.
• Schedules and completes pre-admission assessments and communicates recommendations to patients and families.
• Maintains all documentation involved within the admission process.
• Participates in daily shift reports for Good Hope Hospital (in person, virtual, or telephonic).
• Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team.
• All other duties as assigned by center/regional directors.
