Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Financial Clearance Associate to ensure timely insurance clearance for pre- and post-service accounts. The role focuses on eligibility verification, pre-authorizations, and communicating patient financial responsibility.

You will work with Epic tools and collaborate across departments to optimize reimbursement and patient experience. The position supports the RCO and requires attention to compliance, HIPAA, and excellent customer service to patients,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with 1 year of patient accounts or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of front-end hospital, medical office, patient access, revenue cycle and/or practice operations.
• Preferred: Associates degree with 2–3 years in hospital admissions or patient accounts; Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform insurance clearance for pre- and post-service inpatient and outpatient accounts.
• Verify insurance eligibility and determine coverage and authorization requirements.
• Document pre-authorizations and communicate patient financial responsibility pre-service.
