Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I/II for the Memorial Campus West 3 in Worcester, MA. This on-site, part-time role supports nurses and provides direct patient care during the 2:45pm-11:15pm evening shift.

Salary ranges from $18.92 to $28.59 per hour, based on schedule, experience, and internal equity. Responsibilities include patient observation, daily living assistance, vital signs, EKGs, and safety checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Maintains a safe environment and assists in de-escalation as directed.
• Assists with daily living activities such as hygiene, ambulation, meals.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients.
• Takes and records vital signs and measures patient weight/height.
