Job summary

Welch Packaging Group in Ohio is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support our production operations by keeping manufacturing equipment in optimal condition. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and repair machinery to minimize downtime.

The role requires a strong industrial maintenance background, proactive problem solving, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Electrical certification preferred.
• Corrugated packaging industry a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery.
• Ability to use shop tools and equipment including drill press, shop grinders, welders, oxy-acetylene torch.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Fully computer literate with Microsoft environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company-owned machinery and equipment in proper working order.
• On-call emergency repairs.
• Take control of breakdowns.
• Improve machine safety and housekeeping.
• Work with crews to complete all preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot with machine operator to determine root cause.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize.
• Work with Maintenance Manager to resolve accident waiting to happen forms.
• Maintain organization and inventory of maintenance shop and tools.
• Duties may vary depending on location.
