Job summary

Welch Packaging in Indianapolis, IN, seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep our manufacturing equipment running at peak performance. This hands-on role covers preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Electrical certification preferred.
Corrugated packaging industry a plus.
Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery.
Ability to use shop tools and equipment (drill press, grinders, welders, oxy‑acetylene torch).
Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Trouble shooting and problem solving with practical mechanical & electrical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Fully computer literate with Microsoft environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain company-owned machinery and equipment in proper working order.
On-call emergency repairs.
Take control of breakdowns.
Plan continued improvement of machine safety and general housekeeping.
Work with crews to complete all preventative maintenance.
Troubleshoot with machine operator to determine root cause of mechanical issues.
Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively.
Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to address safety concerns.
Maintain organization and inventory of maintenance shop and tools.
