Job summary

Residence Inn Seattle South Renton is seeking a cook to craft high quality meals for guests and events. You will plan, prepare and present dishes while managing costs, portions, and guest requests in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

The role emphasizes evening shifts, teamwork across departments, and strict sanitation. A Food Handler’s Permit and flexible scheduling are required to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous food handling or prep/line experience is required.
• Some locations may require prior cook experience.
• Must read, write, type and use basic technology.
• Must be able to stand and move for an entire shift and lift at least 25 pounds.
• Must obtain a Food Handler’s Permit.
• Flexible schedule including morning, evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare various food items and meals for the restaurant and catered functions.
• Oversee food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality.
• Creatively accommodate special requests from guests.
• Ensure food deliveries are timely, accurate and meet presentation standards.
• Assist with quality, cleanliness and organization of the restaurant and kitchen.
• Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all food and beverage items.
• Maintain and enforce sanitation and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
• Support the goals of the hotel through teamwork and collaboration with all departments.
