Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an EVS Tech II - Housekeeping for the Lake Forest Hospital evenings shift. This full-time, 40-hour per week role runs 3:30pm–12am with every other weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Must follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff.
• Must be able to use the proper tracking and communication tools utilized by department.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Preferred: One to three years of environmental services experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, daily.
• Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas.
• Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition.
• Promotes safety in the workplace; uses wet floor signs and PPE.
• Uses chemicals safely; maintains proper dilution and labeling.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment repairs and safety hazards.
• Communicates issues to supervisor and covers schedule gaps as needed.
• Keeps patient information confidential.
• Demonstrates scripting model in service delivery to customers.
• Uses resources efficiently and manages workload effectively.
• Contributes to continuous improvement and cost-reduction efforts.
• Maintains professional demeanor and appearance.
• Provides accurate information and directions to patients and customers.
• Uses service recovery skills to resolve issues.
• Displays teamwork across departments.
