Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Attendant to perform cleaning and sanitation tasks in patient care areas. You will follow established procedures, prepare rooms for discharge, and support hospital operations during evening shifts.

The role requires a high school education or equivalent, English fluency, physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand for long periods while using approved cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Must have the ability to understand and converse in English at a level that allows safe, efficient performance of the job.
• Be able to lift 25-50 pounds.
• Requires physical demands, ability to stand for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting.
• Competent in using proper chemicals for proper tasks.
• Ability to learn and demonstrate new procedures related to the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Performs the 8-step cleaning procedures, daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
• Cleans patient equipment as requested by supervisor including beds and all room furnishings.
• Hangs cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains.
• Up on discharge cleaning, disinfect and sanitize I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment.
• Performs all Environmental Services-related tasks and demonstrates the ability to follow department guidelines related to the work.
• Assists in manpower support for office and/or related moves, special conference room set-ups, and any other occasions as required.
