Job summary

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, part of the Tufts Medicine system, is seeking an entry-level Environmental Services worker to maintain clean, safe patient areas. Under supervision, you will perform routine housekeeping tasks, support sanitation, and assist with waste removal and linen handling at the Medford campus.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to infection control, and consistent quality in daily environmental services operations, with full-time evening hours and weekend/holiday rotation

Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a cleaning cart in an orderly condition and keeps stocked with supplies.
• Removes waste including regular rubbish, cardboard, recycle paper, and hazardous material.
• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, bathrooms and surfaces; replenishes supplies as needed.
• Transports linen hampers and replaces full bags; maintains cleanliness in assigned areas.
• Operates cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor machines, buffers, etc.) as required.
• Performs setup for functions and ensures general cleaning before/after events.
