Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services / Custodial Operations Manager 2 to lead the housekeeping team at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. This 2nd shift role (approx.

3PM–11:30 PM) oversees 30 staff and reports to the Operations Manager 3, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service in a 174-bed acute care setting. Responsibilities include daily operations, staff development, performance reviews, and hiring decisions, with some weekends/holidays possible.

Qualifications

• Experience leading environmental services or custodial teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance within facilities operations.
• Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and deadlines-focused.
• Excellent communication and people leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a 30-person housekeeping team on 2nd shift (3PM–11:30 PM).
• Manage daily environmental services operations, safety, and compliance.
• Develop staff, evaluate performance, and hire/fire decisions.
• Collaborate across departments to improve service delivery.
