Job summary

Holy Cross Health seeks an Environmental Care Technician at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. The role performs hospital environmental services, supporting patients, visitors, and staff with safe, timely cleaning and related duties.

Evening shift, full-time, with every other weekend rotation. Requires HS diploma and prior cleaning experience in healthcare or related settings; pay range $18.00–$21.42 per hour, with benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Some on-the-job experience as a housekeeper in Healthcare, Hotel, or Commercial cleaning preferred.
• Knowledge: Ability to read and comprehend instructions in writing and orally.
• Skills: Ability to read and write information in English regarding Duty list, Instructional information, and policies and procedures.
• Ability to use alphanumeric pager and telephone.
• Able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Be assigned to work with Assistant Director of Environmental Services or the Housekeeping Supervisor on a regular basis.
• Environmental Care Technician is guided by basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, operation and use of department equipment and supplies.
• Responsible for the timely, courteous, and competent services rendered in a safe manner for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
• Accepts additional assignments related to support functions as is needed to provide service excellence to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
• On evenings and weekends could also receive direction from the Supervisor as assigned by the Assistant Director of Environmental Services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
