Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to perform cleaning tasks across patient rooms, restrooms, procedure areas, and public spaces in a healthcare setting. The role emphasizes infection prevention, safety, patient privacy, and excellent customer service.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–11:30pm, with every other weekend on-site at Capital Region, Jefferson City. Base pay ranges from $15.78 to $22.53 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour evening

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Additional license or certification requirements may be determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning tasks in patient rooms, procedure areas, restrooms, public areas, clinics, and offices according to established protocols.
• Interacts professionally with patients, visitors, staff, and the public, using approved scripting and maintaining a service-oriented approach.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Follows infection control guidelines, including PPE use and isolation room procedures.
• Handles soiled linen, regular waste, and medical waste per safety standards.
• Delivers and stocks clean linen, monitors par levels, and enters data using handheld or desktop computers.

Education
