Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to join the Neuro and Trauma specialty unit team. The HUC will support the Neuro-Trauma PCU with data entry, phone calls, admissions, and chart maintenance while floating to other units as needed.

This is a full-time evening shift (2 PM–10:30 PM) with every-other-weekend rotation and shift differentials. The department emphasizes coordinated care and strong patient services in a Magnet-recognized academic medical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.
• Proficiency with office software and keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Process patient admissions and record bed assignments.
• Maintain complete patient records and ensure chart accessibility.
• Coordinate patient discharges and arrange follow-up appointments.
• Manage supplies and order requisitions; track equipment.
