Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is hiring to support our department teams in delivering outstanding customer experiences. You will assist the department manager to achieve sales and profit goals while maintaining quality standards and a safe, welcoming store environment.

You will respond to customer questions about products, recommend items, and ensure product freshness and proper labeling. Knowledge of store products and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Effective communication skills
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
• Any retail experience

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor quality assurance standards.
• Promote trust and respect among associates and create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated.
• Answer questions about products and respond to customer inquiries in the store.
• Know products sold in the department and make suggestions to customers.
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise, ensuring fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Notify management of safety risks, accidents, or loss events.
