Responsibilities

• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
• Encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Create an environment welcoming customers by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions, make recommendations.
• Check product quality, ensure freshness and review sell by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures.
• Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, notify management.
• Practice preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks; report theft or fraud.
