Job summary

Kroger is seeking a friendly team member to create outstanding customer experiences in our department. You will assist customers, answer questions about products, stock merchandise, and maintain clean, safe displays to encourage repeat visits.

You will learn product knowledge, monitor dates, help with labeling and inventory, follow safety guidelines, and support management in meeting sales goals while upholding Kroger values of respect and integrity.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products to respond and suggest items.
• Recommend frozen food items to customers to meet needs.
• Check product quality and freshness; review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs kept.
• Assist with building displays and observe shift hours.
• Assist with breaking down loads and stocking sections quickly.
• Maintain stocked shelves and displays according to standards.
• Follow all safety, loss prevention, and customer engagement rules.
