Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Security Officer in Los Angeles, CA to greet students and staff, manage access control, and provide exceptional customer service in a welcoming security-focused environment.

You will verify credentials, monitor logs, respond to incidents, route calls, and help deter unauthorized access while supporting site leadership. This role offers weekend shifts and a flexible, community-focused workplace.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and front desk policies.
• Monitor access to the educational location by verifying visitor credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Receive and route calls, deliveries, and inquiries while maintaining awareness of activity at the front desk and adjacent entry areas.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by observing and reporting unusual activity, policy violations, and access concerns to site leadership.
