Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage night operations from 10 PM to 7 AM. In this role, you will plan and optimize freight movement, ensuring efficiency and strong communication with customers. Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Plan, schedule, and optimize freight movement for maximum efficiency
Track performance metrics and improve service center operations
Review reports and collaborate with your team to keep everything on track
Coordinate freight appointments and ensure smooth delivery flow
Assist with billing, rating, manifesting, and freight analysis
Build strong communication with customers and internal teams
Help train, develop, and evaluate team members
Support hiring and onboarding alongside the Service Center Manager
Maintain a safe, secure, and well‑run facility
Investigate incidents and help implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with safety regulations (DOT, OSHA, EPA, ICC)
Lead team meetings and keep everyone aligned
Take on special projects and keep operations moving forward
