Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area and assist with loading to trailers. The shift runs 15:30-21:00 with starting pay of $22.26 per hour and pay range $22.26–$26.04.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, verifying freight docs, and ensuring safe securing of loads. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (preferred), basic math and communication skills, and the ability to lift heavy items multiple times per shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Warehouse or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/dcarry varying weights several times a week and to handle heavy dock plates.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
