Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a warehouse/yard associate to transport freight across dock areas and assist with loading to trailers. The role requires operating forklifts and manual equipment, verifying freight documents, and securing loads for safe transit.

The position supports night shift hours (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM) with starting pay of $22.77 per hour and potential for higher wages up to $26.64 per hour. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and capable teamwork and basic math

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard duties are required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and dock plates and to open trailer doors as needed.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat and push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Work independently or as part of a team; prior dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using current systems.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
